More than Words: starts november 2023, Amsterdam-West
Learning to talk and connect with others does not come naturally to all children. The Hanen Program ‘More than words’ teaches you simple but effective strategies to improve contact and communication with your child. You discover how you can use daily situations to encourage your child’s social communication and play skills, while also connecting and having more fun together.
For who? | The Hanen Program ‘More than Words’ is developed for parents of children (1 to 6 years old) who have difficulties with social communication: you may notice that your child finds it difficult to have beginning conversations or you have limited or no contact with your child. There may be an overall delay in the child’s development. The program is also suitable for parents of children with ASD.
Program | The program includes an intake, eight group meetings and four individual appointments at your home, involving video recordings. The course concludes with a final evaluation.
Practical information | For the Hanen Program, you need a referral from your GP for speech therapy – Hanen Program: More than words. The course group consists of 6 to 8 parents. Within a month after registration, the intake and first home visits take place. The course location is in Amsterdam-West.
